All great reasons why The Atlantic CEO Nicholas Thompson says GenZ isn't all that enthusiastic anymore about AI. I've seen this spun in a couple places as a "branding problem," but I think folks ought to heed Thompson's warning. What does this signify in terms of a backlash?

To me, this says that not only is AI showing alternative media consumers dim prospects for their future in late-stage capitalism, but it's also lowering the signal-to-noise ratio in a lot of GenZ's favorite media channels. What does that mean? Platform abandonment and more insular consumption habits.

Yes, brands looking to reach this cohort are going to have a very tough time.

Alternative media consumers are breaking away from the pack. How are they different? More importantly, will they break off a larger piece of the media consumption wishbone?
